  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I know I'm a little late to this discussion, but here I am. :) It's funny to be reading this discussion this week, as I was just discussing the same thread about a different subject last week. I've been doing quite a bit of conference speaking (...) (18 years ago, 20-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX) !

Now Is The Time To Ship MOCs To BrickFest PDX

Have some important news to pass along if you plan on shipping a MOC to Brickfest. If you have reservations for the Red Lion Hotel, you may ship your MOC there and they will not charge a holding fee. If you don't have their address, here is is- Red (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) John, I agree with most of your comments and I appreciate your keeping the other side of this arguement. I would like to point out that I feel that a NPO is different than a private company. WalMart is a private company that is not required to (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Bryan, Thank you for your post and informing the community of the intentions of your organization of BrickWorld 07. I have interspersed some comments among your points. Please read them carefully and in a positive frame of mind. They are not (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I don't think making money from an AFOL event is tantamount to "screwing us hobbyists" - but I also don't think it's right to make money from an event without telling volunteers and attendees what their time, effort, and money is going (...)   Re: What was the question?

(...) The question was: who, if anyone, will be profiting from this event. I started with the assumption that no one would be profiting, since I was going by David's message. After reading Bryan's email, I thought he was saying that he and Adam (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

One cool thing about being a nay-blay-er (IMHO)

We won't have access to all the new parts. Is that bad thing? In the case of a few of the new parts, definitely! The new 1x1 angled brick is one of the best new parts in years. Ditto the new 1x1 tooth plate. However, as nay-blay-ers, we will have (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.color, FTX)

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

Bryan has contacted me privately and assured me that both his statement below, and David Gregory's previous statement about nobody making money, are truthful and accurate. As these are unambiguous statements, this clears up the whole issue for me in (...) (18 years ago, 17-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) Really? I have just finished reading every post in this group and could not find a place where the organizers have said this. If it was said somewhere else, then it probably should be repeated here for those of us who do not read every post on (...) (18 years ago, 17-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld)

  What was the question?

(...) ... (...) Marc, From all the examples you listed, it appears several people have tried to answer your questions. Wouldn't you agree? Personally, I don't understand what you think they are trying to hide. If you want to assume people that run (...) (18 years ago, 17-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX) !

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

Re: Talk me into Bley at BrickFest
