  Re: 10021

If they have to post on the live server (I can't imagine them being stupid enough to not have a Staging server), I'd suspect they don't "yank" the pics back off, they simply change the permissions so they're not viewable. (...) A rerelease of #398 U.S.S. Constellation, sans 1x1x1 yellow windows. (...) I am just guessing wildly here, but it may be the case that they don't have separate development (creation) and production (live) servers -- or that even if they do, (...)   Re: 10021

(...) It's gone now - what was it? It seems that the last few LEGO releases have been preceded by a brief visibility on their website. I suspect that there is some software or procedural problem with lego.com where it is impossible for items to be (...) (22 years ago, 17-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: curved 9V train track

(...) Or, TLC could include in new train sets a discount coupon for orders of train track. :) Steve (22 years ago, 14-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  curved 9V train track

As anyone who has a bought a number of Lego train sets knows, you always end up with far more curved tracks than you can use, and never enough straight track. Is there something we can do about that? Well, how about this idea: For upcoming Lego (...) (22 years ago, 14-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: lack of basic bricks in many new sets

Sounds good, but I think this can not be realized. I think the only thing we can do is to play with our children with "normal" bricks and to show them that there is a world outside without Bionicle ..., that there can be almost the same fun by (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

lack of basic bricks in many new sets

I was thinking about the current perception of "LEGO sets", compared to the way we AFOLs looked at sets when we were kids. Many of the new sets have very few 'basic bricks', and some of the sets (like Bionicle) don't have any basic bricks. Do we (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

dear lego, please make this part easier to get...

The part is a technic beam, its a 5x5 shape and is like 2 1x4 beams joined in a L shape Please make this part easier to get. (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Small Shop Horror Story (Trying to post to correct newsgroup)

(...) If this is true, this is a serious problem. Treating small shops like scum cannot enhance LEGO's reputation. (...) Um, I really think this was an "honest" mistake on the part of LEGO. Someone accidently packaged six copies of a set into the (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Hiya Todd, (...) Whoa cowboy! I don't intend to sue LEGO. I simply intend to let them know how badly they've screwed up, and get them to fix the mistake they made. (...) Actually, I plan to call them myself, since it was the receiving clerk who (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Laura, If you have any friends that are lawyers r work for a law firm, have them call LEGO on your behalf. It sounds like you may have reached the wrong employee on the wrong day. Try them again. This is really surprising considering the way LEGO (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  The New Clone Brand

While perusing the inventory of a local TRU, I came across a shocking new construction brick toy that's a shameless and direct copy of another brand.   Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) Whereas jelly beans tend to be eaten shortly, LEGO bricks last a long time. I can see that LEGO don't want the market to be filled with discoloured LEGO bricks. It cannot be good for their reputation if images of discoloured bricks becomes (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Small Shop Horror Story (Trying to post to correct newsgroup)

(...) Sounds like the other situations regarding small shops. The real problem now adays, if I read correctly is BIG places like Toys R US and Walmart have special status with Lego. They get breaks, and LEGO caters to them (they even redid their (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Small Shop Horror Story (Trying to post to correct newsgroup)

Hi all. As some of you know, I recently went to work for a small educational toy shop in North Seattle. I actually found the job thanks to LEGO! The owner was considering starting to carry LEGO, and was at a SeaLUG meeting. Well, it took quite some (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) The Jelly Belly factory in our area puts their malformed jelly beans in 1 lb. bags and sells them as "Belly Flops" in their factory store-- for about half price! They taste just as good only you can't choose the flavors-- so all the bags (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) This would be a great item for LD's auctions. If they had ten lots, each one pound of swirled elements, I bet they could fetch pretty good money...maybe mine. Chris (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

(...) Supply and demand? If people are interested in buying them, and there are few items available, it's only natural to see a high price point. It's like stamp of coin collection, I suppose. Stamps and coins which are produced with some kind of (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Lego, LD Sell these bricks! (was: Re: Mottled Bricks and Plates!)

Why on earth are you asking them to sell them for such INSANE prices? It's not as if regular bricks are cheap through bulk. You do realize those mottled bricks are "trash" as far as Lego is concerned, right? They either throw them out or grind them (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.lego.direct)
