As anyone who has a bought a number of Lego train sets knows, you always
end up with far more curved tracks than you can use, and never enough
straight track. Is there something we can do about that? Well, how
about this idea:
For upcoming Lego train sets, include the curved rails in the sets as
actual *sealed* 4520 boxes. Two per train set. Then, have a policy at
Shop at Home (or Lego Direct), where someone can send two sealed
4520 boxes to Lego, postage paid and insured, and get back, postage
paid and insured, a single 4515 box of straight track. No way can we
expect Lego to exchange them one per one, but perhaps two per one makes
sense, financially. I don't expect the volume would be very high, but
likely it would be non-trivial.
