Sounds good, but I think this can not be realized. I think the only thing we
can do is to play with our children with "normal" bricks and to show them
that there is a world outside without Bionicle ..., that there can be almost
the same fun by playing with standard bricks and that creativity is more
than collecting masks.
As an AFOL from germany I would prefer/suggest to offer both through the
internet as through local dealers the possibility to buy much more
individual/bulk packs from all actual production lines. they produce all of
the pieces anyway so why not producing many more of the most wanted bricks
of the sets and offer them as bulk packs to everybody at the market.
Since bulk order started about two years ago I am waiting that this part
increases but instead many bricks have been posted out after sold out and
have never been seen again .... I wish there would be a bigger variety of
bulk bricks, at least all of the standard bricks in all standard colours.
just to realize some projects and to give mamas, daddys, and soon grandmamas
and grandpapas who even know the classic lego bricks from their oen
childhood and would buy those bricks for their kids.
So still waiting that something changes ...

| I was thinking about the current perception of "LEGO sets", compared to the way we AFOLs looked at sets when we were kids. Many of the new sets have very few 'basic bricks', and some of the sets (like Bionicle) don't have any basic bricks. Do we (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jun-02, to lugnet.dear-lego)
