Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) Here's a better idea: Stop making all of the scarred/mustachioed/...lipsticked faces and go back to plain smileys. Then they can be either. Unless your women have hormone problems and your men are cross-dressers, it's hard to use today's (...) (25 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) Just a quick plug for one of my favourite small sets -- 1271/5905. The Gail Storm face is pretty near generic: the clone factor (as id'ed by Shiri) is still a bit of a problem, but you can use those features nearly anywhere and they seem to (...)   Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) No, no way! I was just giving the most obvious example... (...) Well, you might think you wouldn't mind, and perhaps you wouldn't; but perhaps you think you would because you DON'T have them (1). I have one of each and like them, yet if I had (...)   Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) You're comparing Willa the Witch to every other female face? Every other female face could be used for anything. Willa definately can't. That is what makes her a bad mini-face. I have seen the close-up picture of the Queen and princess (I was (...) (25 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Elements I'd like to see...

(...) Yup, you are correct. I simply forgot about these pieces. I have used them as gender changers in the past, but do not like them much due to the rounded ends. For now, however, that is all we have and I guess I can be happy with that until a (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) Disagree. LEGO used to do a lot more minifig packs. Town, Space, Castle, Pirates, there was even a Wild West mfp. They've only recently started doing fewer of them. I'm guessing mfp's are not big sellers. They may be popular among the True (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) I'd agree with this generally, EXCEPT, there is a tendency for the only female characters to be rare unique characters. Willa is about the only female I have seen that I don't want a bunch of (and she's a common figure - go figure). Give us (...) (25 years ago, 3-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) I agree. We do NOT want 1000 copies each of (for example) Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Luke Skywalker, Princess Strom, Queen Leonara, Willa the Witch, Basil the Bat Lord, the WW bad guys, or any other "personalized" and characterized minifig (...)   Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) That's (...) Rock (...) Well the orange guy (space engineer to me) is a rare fig that is only in the large set. He is supposedly the leader. If castle did the same type of set It would have a useless king. The princess could easily become a (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) That's why I think common-characters-only packs would be a great solution. The rare special characters are still in the big sets, yet you can get a lot of the basic people. (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) Then explain the Rock Raiders fig pack. I for one never intend to buy any Rock Raider set unless it is at a steep discount but I will probably get at least 100 of those fig packs. (Space Marines, Pilots, and Engineers; Town Construction (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) Ahh but that's the POINT. They WANT you to shell out $$ for the items. That's why all the rare characters are in the BIG sets... It's marketing... Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: A minifig pack for EVERY theme

(...) Yes, definitely. Ideally, with significantly more of common characters (peasants, stormtroopers) than of "specialty" ones (Darth Vader, kings and princesses). In fact, it might even be reasonable for the minifig packs to _only_ have generic (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

A minifig pack for EVERY theme

Greetings all, Here's an idea who's time is definitely overdue. With the reintroduction of Castle and the long-unseen and much-coveted maiden's cap returning in black, it's clear that every theme or sub-theme that TLG produces would profit greatly (...)   Re: part inventory list

(...) If that costs too much to print (it may well double the amount of paper for a smallish set) make it available on the web and publicise the URL. I suspect this actually saves money if you figure out what it costs for those 10 minute long CA (...) (25 years ago, 2-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

  Re: part inventory list

This is an excellent idea. This would also be great for someone who has a large collection (like most people who play with Legos do), as it would enable them to quickly separate the pieces needed to construct each set before building. An excellent (...) (25 years ago, 1-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego) !

  Re: part inventory list

Dear Lego, I couldn't agree more. Just as sets have a number, the parts should too. When I was a kid, I could ask my parents to buy me a set just by saying the number. The same thing should be done for pieces, it would be so very useful and helpful. (...) (25 years ago, 1-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  part inventory list

Dear Lego, I wish each set and accessory pack came with an inventory list. The list would include an official part number, a verbal description of the part, a graphic or picture of the part and how many of each listed part was included in the set or (...)   Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

(...) This was downscored because? - you didn't like my guesses - wrong place for them, might give TLC the wrong idea about what chumps we are - typed in too quickly so too many typos? Just curious. ++Lar (25 years ago, 1-Apr-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
