What is the procedure for someone else to add photos and new parts to
your db inventory on peeron?  I just got a digital camera, and would be
willing to photo new parts in MISB sets I inventory.

Would I just send you the photo and find the partref part #?

well, if the part has a partsref number, then it doesn't need a picture,
since all parts in partsref have dats.  So we only need pictures of
parts that are not in partsref.  Now, if the part has a number on it,
use that, if not, give it an identifier (like k01, or something
different than x123, so there wont be any overlapping...  we'll rename
it when we get your submission).  use that identifier both in your
inventory and to name the picture.  If the part has printing on it, add
a pxx to your identifier (k01p01).

As for the pictures themselves - 640x480 is good, and has to be very
well lit, and with a neutral background (we use 2 big gray baseplates as
background).  The picture should show as much detail of the part as
possible, though it's very hard sometimes.

Exception to the gray baseplate background, is torsos and minifig heads
and headgear - those we take on a little white lego "shelf".  See
pictures we have taken to see what I mean.

We can't promise to use pictures sent to us - we want to keep a
consistent feel.  Also, if the picture is not part of an inventory, we
couldn't use it - it would not be referenced by anything.

Last but not least, we already have close to 800 pictures up - try and
verify that the part you're looking for doesn't have a picture yet :)

Sorry for all the ramblings, hope it does help though.
