  Inventories on Peeron.com

Hi all, First off, I'd like to thank Dan for setting up such a great resource. I started off as solely a user of peeron also. Basically I wanted a way to determine exactly how many of any specific piece I had, based on all the sets in my collection. (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.general)

  6368 Jet Airliner

Here is the inventory for 6368 Jet Airliner. It was done from a Mint opened set from ebay. It is complete per instructions, but may not have the correct extra pieces. Please make use of it. Kevin -- 6368 Jet Airliner 2 3005 Black Brick 1 x 1 4 3005 (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: What should an inventory include?

(...) You are in Lugnet's inventory repository; this message is in Lugnet's inventory repository. The newsgroup lugnet.db.inv is where inventories are stored. You can search them like any other lugnet newsgroup to find the info you are looking for (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: What should an inventory include?

(...) That's actually the reason we made it - not that brickbay was too high - but since we (dan and i) rarely buy pieces separately - since then we wouldn't have the whole set that goes with them - we find which set has the piece we want in mass (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: What should an inventory include?

(...) I speak solely as a user. I usually am cruising Peeron to determine "what set do I need to buy to get mass quantities of this part because the Brickbay price is too high". So all I really care about is the parts, quantities, and colors. The (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  1464 Pirate Lookout

Here's an inventory of the 1464 Pirate Lookout set. This was done from an unopened package so I think I got everything correct. Anyone who wants it can use it. Inventory for set #1464: Pirate Lookout Theme: Lego / SYSTEM / Pirate / Pirates Year: (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: What should an inventory include?

(...) it's not rare to see a newer version of a set come out with corrections to the instructions - which would mean a new number. Like 8002, for example. :) Dan (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: What should an inventory include?

I knew catalogs weren't consistent but I thought the instructions were. I guess I've just never seen two of the same set with different instructions. (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

Re: What should an inventory include?

(...) Well, ultimatly, I'd like to see all the detail possible in inventories. We currently don't include instructions and catalongs - since those arn't always consistant between different runs. Same goes for bag information in sets where the bags (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  What should an inventory include?

Since no one has responded to notes posted in the Lugnet.Admin.General about a discussion group for inventories, I'll throw this out here too. I was wondering what information people really want in these inventories. Personally, I tend to want as (...) (23 years ago, 4-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: 6236 King Kahuka

Ah, cut and paste error! Needless to say, the below message should be about the 6236 King Kahuka set, not Fort LEGOREDO... (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: peeron updates?

I guess it depends on which "update" you're talking about. I think that posting a note occasionally to the newsgroup listing new sets added recently is definitely a useful thing to continue. But I don't think that an "Added, Thanks" note needs to be (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  6236 King Kahuka

Here's an inventory of the 6769 Fort LEGOREDO set. This was done from an unopened package so I think I got everything correct. Anyone who wants it can use it. Inventory for set #6236: King Kahuka Theme: Lego / SYSTEM / Pirate / Islanders Year: 1994 (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: peeron updates?

(...) I've been finding your site more and more useful and would like to see updates here somehwere. Weekly would be good when significant updates come that often. Maybe .announce would be the place for your site announcements. Perhaps you could (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: peeron updates?

(...) Hmm, I disagree on this point... I'd rather "clog" the newsgroup than "clog" people's email accounts, if that makes sense. Not that I think *either* is a clog. The newsgroup is meant for posting inventories - isn't that what you're doing, (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: peeron updates?

(...) I think it is good and valuable to post updates here. People read (or search) this newsgroup because they want to know about inventories. Particularly since many people send you inventories directly instead of posting them here, your posting (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: peeron updates?

(...) I like the posts here about updates to peeron.com. They justified because your site is mainly an inventory site and this is an inventory newsgroup. Your site can be seen in a certain way as a enhanced and browsable version of this newsgroup. (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Re: peeron updates?

Jen I prefer to see the updates posted. about once a week would be nice. I know you guys include a list of new pics and sets added, how about a single link for "new" pics and another for "recent " inventories? If other people (or enough) disagree, (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv)

  Possibility of lugnet.db.inv.discussion?

Is there any possibility of getting a discussion group for lugnet.db.inv? It seems like we have enough non-data posts in lugnet.db.inv to warrant at least thinking about it. And almost every one of them starts out with "I know this isn't a (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.admin.general)
