  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) Well, I don't think anything they CAN do short of forcing the company into bankrupcy would satisfy color purists. They can't afford to bring back the old colors. You guys want the old colors. Either way, someone's going to be sad. (...) While (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) Given that Gary possesses probably a longer view and better expertise regarding past production matters and parts availability than anyone on LUGNET, I think this post ought to get more attention. My statement, when it became obvious the (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) Actually, I agree with Christian. Admitting to a mistake and then stating that you aren't going to do anything to resolve the issue isn't the best way to regain lost support. For many fans, LEGO ceased to be a viable product post-2003. From my (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) Although I have no problem accepting the CEO's apology, I do agree with Christian about one thing. That is besides the "sorry" from the company, there is no tangible goodwill, as shown with the Maersk Blue controversy. At least with the Maersk (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) cool beans my only question is: if the only thing holding the company back from going back to the old colors is money, how much are we talking about? a million, 10 million? 50 million? ondrew now if i only knew tonights lotto numbers =) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: ... and a bad, bad new year!

(...) Personally I think you are being exactly that. Wishing that the Lego company does poorly is very selfish. I see very little good that can come from continued financial troubles and may serve to hurt existing and next generation Lego fans who (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

... and a bad, bad new year!

"Let me openly state that had the decision makers in this color change process been aware of the negative impact on the AFOLs at the time the decision was made, these three colors would not have been changed." Just in case someone missed this (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) No, a bigger mistake would be to attempt to fix it, and go out of business. Do you *really* feel you would be better off in that case? Start buying Mega-Bloks to continue your hobby, would you? Be realistic. Whether you accept it or not, (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

NOTE: I really hate getting invloved in the color debates, but I will if I think my 2c are important enough. (...) Although I agree with this, I look at it as more of a closure, coming as it is- straight from the horse's mouth. (...) I thought the (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

(...) What value has an apology even from a CEO on behalf of his company, if there is no intent whatsoever to remedy the situation? Sorry, but I can't accept this "apology". With all the communication chaos inside the company I can comprehend that (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: CEO-Letter // The answer

Holy cow! If this is the real deal then I'm mighty impressed. Makes me wonder if Lego can make a return to profitability that they would consider a reversal. Stranger things have happened. Thank you, Jorgen, for taking the time out of what must be a (...) (20 years ago, 8-Mar-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: Impact of New Colours -- 1 year later [Was: Deathstar]

(...) I could probably repeat Johns words in respect to the newest gears in the technic line. I still don't have any 36 tooth gears, as their only available in the spybotics line, which dosn't appeal to me. I'm not complaining though as I know I'll (...) (20 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: Impact of New Colours -- 1 year later [Was: Deathstar]

(...) My initial reaction was, oh well, its going to take a while to get enough kinds of parts in the new colors before I can plan MOCs using them. That turns out to be the case. I don't have enough parts yet. The downside, as far as buying sets, is (...) (20 years ago, 26-Feb-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: LEGO Facts and Figures - tolerance on part sizes

(...) There's a big difference between the *mould* tolerance (the 5 micron one) and the tolerance on the resulting ABS part. Running the process faster, releasing the ABS parts at a higher temperature, will make the produced parts more irregular (...)   Re: LEGO Facts and Figures - tolerance on part sizes

Was Jake talking about the tolerances of the actual mould whereas the Lego facts are refering to the bricks themselves. The moulds would need to be much more accurate than the bricks that came out of them. Dunno, just a thought (20 years ago, 25-Feb-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color, lugnet.lego)
