  Re: Ninja stuff

(...) Not So Quick Answer I think that depends largely on how one views or uses LEGO in general. For me, all sets are parts and minifigs are the focus. I find no play value in the buildings and such; they are parts with which to construct minifig (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Custom torso question

Ok, I've seen some of the BEAUTIFUL torso's some of you guys are creating. I would LOVE to try this on my own, but I have a few questions: 1) What program do you use? Photo Shop? 2) How did you create your template for the shape to keep it (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ninja stuff

(...) Ninja has a real castle, armor, swords, helmets, cavalry, bows - why wouldn't it be real Castle? No, it's not medieval Europe, so it won't necessarily be of interest to everyone. I thought it a step up after Dragon Masters and Fright Knights, (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ninja stuff

Ok lets rephrase this. Obviously they are castles - that is self evident :) do you however consider it part of the Castle Lego line or part of the Castle Ninja line Certainly is better than fright knights. "Bruce Schlickbernd" (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ninja stuff

(...) I consider the Ninja sets to be part of the Castle line. Not only are the sets GREAT for parts (LOVE the stone facade) and minifigs, but they give a whole new idea to ornamentation, realized in Lego. I also like the way they are put together. (...)   Re: Custom torso question

(...) I myself use Adobe Photoshop. Other people use other programs, they all work fine. All you really need is a program that allows you to zoom in, cut, paste and draw. All of the torso designs that you've seen by me are totally hand drawn, with (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ninja stuff

(...) Well, when Ninja was released there were no new castle sets released. So yes it could be considered castle. of course ninjas and knights were from different time periods and parts of the world. a ninja castle could not be just down the river (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?

If TLC is reissuing old sets those selling old sets not be too happy (EI held onto a guarded in to sell it on ebay for mucho $, And then TLC rereleases it in 2001[1]) I will be happy cause hopefully I can get some old sets again. but a little (...)   Re: Custom torso question

(...) I have used Adobe Illustrator for most of my stuff, although if I am knocking off a pattern (Example: TLC's Guarded Inn Sign), I have used Photoshop for simple touch ups and improvements of the pattern. Although my Blacktron I clones are (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ninja stuff

(...) Well, they're castles, they feature guys in armor with swords on horseback, they're in the 60xx range and are shipped to toy stores in boxes marked 'castle' -- so, they're Castle LEGO. :^) But, they're not european castle LEGO. So I consider (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.space)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?

(...) They won't be the same (different set numbers), but besides that, these are toys we are talking about, not investments. If someone takes a bath from using LEGO as an investment, well that's the breaks in a market.... (...) That's the whole (...)   Re: Ninja stuff

(...) The Ninja Theme was what got me into the Castle Theme and I am still a die-hard ninja fan. Certainly I am not impressed with the offerings in the Ninja Theme and the structures but I can say the minifigs are very well done and the specialized (...)   new castle pics on BrickShelf

I just recently updated my BrickShelf page. I know many of the images are very dark. Sorry :-/ I hope to have something new built in time for BrickFest (URL) Hitchcock (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: July surprise for castle fans!

(...) and then, at (URL) Brad Justus wrote this about the new "classic" set line: (...) Ah, so all we really have to consider is what Castle sets (or elements) meet this criteria -- the one about the molds being available. I am going to take another (...) Thank you John Neal for bringing this up! If your into the hobby for pleasure, then that’s great! If you’re into the hobby for profit and profit alone, get out!   Re: Ninja stuff

(...) I have to turn this around and ask do you consider Dark Forest to be part of the Castle Lego line, or the Castle Dark Forest line? I mean, there isn't a castle in Dark Forest, but there is in Ninja. What you are really hedging around is the (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?

(...) Then stop holding on to it and sell it now, while there's still no possible competition from LEGO re-releasing the set. Or, wait until the sets are no longer being sold by LEGO again. It just means sitting on your investment a little longer. (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Ninja stuff

(...) Hey, that reminds me: when did man-portable gunpowder weapons come about in Asia? That would seem a suitable, though arbitrary, way to determine if Ninja "fits" with Castle. I suspect this has been hashed-out here before... Dave! (23 years ago, 23-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Why aren't we going crazy?!?

(...) I have no sympathy for anyone trading in Lego for profit except for TLC itself (and even then there is a reasonableness in pricing factor), especially if their ambition is primarily to make $$$ from old MISB sets (which excludes people who (...)
