What I'm talking about is of course the infamous airship, made popular by • many
Final Fantasy games.  This particular ship is owned and commanded by none
other that Vincent Gage himself.  While many of you may think this may be too
technological for castle use, I would prefer to make my kingdom similar to
that of FF2, with a medieval setting and weapons, but with various machines
powered by crystals and magic and the sort.  Sorry for all the FF references,
but I just can't get away from it.  So here she is:

Oh, darn, ya beat me to it!  ;)  Actually, I did make two airships about 10
years ago, but they're gone now...

I heard about those, from reading other posts.  I was hoping I could see
pictures of those if you ever got around to photographing them.

Anyway, I just want to say that's a great
design!  But, uh, where are the rotor-topped masts?  ;)

Uh yeah, those, um, well, I was thinking of adding those when I was finished,
but I just couldn't get them to look the way I wanted, so I left it the way it
was.  Now I can say it was my own design instead of just using the FF design.
I was actually trying to go more with the design of the Highwind in FF7 after
it transforms into a jet.

P.S.  I've seen different spellings of the word "magic" around here and on
some of your sites.  More specifically, "majickally" and other variations.
I'm wondering if you all decided to spell it differently as a group, or if • you
all just can't spell right, which I think is highly unlikely.

IIRC, that is the Old English spelling.  I'll have to check...  Ah, I was
close:
[Middle English magik, from Old French magique, from Late Latin magica, from
Latin magice*, from Greek magike*, from feminine of magikos, of the Magi,
magical from magos, magician, magus; see magus.]
(* should have a long vowel symbol over it)

also:
v. tr. mag·icked, mag·ick·ing, mag·ics.

To produce or make by or as if by magic.

It makes me wonder where the "j" came from though...  ;)

Jeff

Cool, thanks for all the background info on majick.

Hi Wilson, I like the design of your ship, but I have one suggestion. IMO, your ship needs a trans-fluoro-green crystal piece right in the middle of your crystal room. It's like one you'd get in an Aquazone set (although those are chromed). I'm not (...) (24 years ago, 30-May-00, to lugnet.castle)
