Why why why. at home I am not aloud to build my parent say it is to babyish.
every time i get a catalog my mom tosses it out. i cant buy anything cause my
dad throws it out and says "i forbid you to waste money on *$@#". I now find
myself secretly building late at night or when I'm home alone. this is such a
load of bull. why why why. I cant take it. did or does anyone else have this
problem. what do I do? I hate this.

A couple of suggestions:

Is there an AFOL club in your area?  Perhaps if you could show your parents that
there are "responsible adults" playing with Lego, they would allow you to attend
club events occasionally.

Second, you have a computer or at least access to a computer.  What about LDraw?
You can build as much as you want, and not spend much money on it...  Of course,
it might not be as satisfying as running your hands through piles of bricks, but
it would allow you to build.

Otherwise, I echo the suggestions other people have put into this thread.  Tone
down the language, respect your parents, research some of the *amazing* things
AFOLs have built (Brickshelf, MOCPages, etc...), keep up your grades in school,
get out of the basement (that's where I spent a large portion of my childhood!)
and see the real world every now and then -- if only for inspiration of more
things to build!

One question:  How old are you, Daniel?  Have you thought about what sort of
career you might go into someday?  There are LOTS of ways playing with Lego can
help you prepare for 'the real world'.  Any job that requires planning, design,
organization, 3D thinking -- all those skills can be developed and enhanced by
playing with Lego...

Best of luck!!
