  Re: Pub 'n Shop

(...) Doing a corner building was a treat. The bricks really make a nice roof, now if we could only get those pieces straight from LEGO instead of Bricklink, we do lots more of those. (...) Those houses were indeed part of a little village this past (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Basket maker and knife grinder

Hello! Again I've built some small things to bring life into the medieval town. This time it's a basket maker, a knife grinder and a broom maker (what's the right name?): (URL) me, I'm a link!>> (URL) me, I'm a link!>> Bye Jojo (2 URLs) Some more (...)   Re: Pub 'n Shop

(...) I am very suprised at how small these buildings turned out. They seem plenty big next to the minifigs, but I compare them to my town creations and they seem puny. Still I will probably continue in the same scale... it makes my bricks go (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.org.us.michlug, lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Basket maker and knife grinder

(...) Broom maker is the right name so far as I know - it's the other two I'd question. Weaver, or perhaps just basket merchant if he didn't make them himself. Door to door knife sharpening survived to at least when I was a kid (do they still do (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Tailor's Shop

(...) Dean, You have a nice creation there. I like a number of the details you included, the rubber band for a measuring tape, the shirts along the wall, the dragon plume for a quill, all very good.   Re: Norman Keep

Re: Basket maker and knife grinder

(...) Yes, they do still do door-to-door knife sharpening (well, it's not strictly door-to-door, it's more housecall). I saw it on an episode of Good Eats a while ago. This guy pulls up to your house with a van full of sharpening gear and goes (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: New Tolkien chapters

(...) Thanks. (...) I really think that Rowling's description of Dobby either consciously or unconsciously drew on the obsequious side of Gollum's character. So I felt comfortable using this fig as Gollum. Bruce (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: New Tolkien chapters

(...) Thanks, Jon. To make those pictures I took about 20 individual pictures of soldiers. Then I cut and pasted them into one huge (20 MB) Photoshop file, where I adjusted hue and saturation and put each of them in a seperate layers. Then I would (...) (21 years ago, 20-Oct-03, to lugnet.castle)
