Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) This is my main objection. From my experience on other message boards and newsgroups, when there is too much compartmentalization, you suddenly get a whole lot of discussion on why this or that post belongs in this subgroup or that, which (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) [Dons flame suit] Personally, I've felt rather repelled from castle for my complete opposite viewpoint. Stories are ok, but that's not what I come to Lugnet for. If I want a good story, I'll go pick one up at the library. And over the last (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

I totally agree with you Bruce, I'm tired of the this goes here and that goes there crap.. I've basically given up on posting stuff because I've gotten my head bit off for posting in the 'wrong' place.. I'm sure someone will bite it off again very (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Stickers

(...) Tammy.... WOW... my custom torso designs look great actually on the minifigs... I havent actually printed them all out yet and stuck them on.... Thanx for posting them..... : ) I like the couple you have done too.... I'm actually adding all my (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

(...) Very nice. I like the functionality a lot. I think my favorite little detail is the cockpit piece you used for the fireplace. That's a neat idea; maybe I'll borrow it sometime. Bruce (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

(...) But one question: are you sure an open fire right next to a millstone is such a good idea? Flour is explosive, you know... --Bill. (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

(...) Looks great James..... The pics are fine..... so the blades follow the wind? cool maybe take it apart a bit and take a couple pics so we can see the workings... Kev..: ) www.ozbricks.com/andrastavia (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Chapter Four has arrived!

(...) Good stuff as always. Sounds like we've reached the end of the backstory, eh? Does this mean we'll get to read that cool first chapter again? :) I also really like the new format, makes it much easier to read. Keep it up! --Anthony (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Stickers

(...) yeah, your stickers got me started on this non purist journey of the minifigs :) They have given me over 100 useful figs that would otherwise have just sat here collecting dust. Though I can only use so many of those, so decided it was time to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) .... (...) tips, (...) belong (...) I agree that I would prefer a somewhat more flexible attitude towards what should be posted in the various boards. I think if someone wants to sell some castle lego, or a lot of grey brick, it is likely to (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

<snip> (...) <and another snip> I must clear up a point here. CW is a group of people (the balladeers) with their own storylines, controls, constraints, etc. The CW Admin is more of an update service than an actual admin. (and we haven't even been (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

In lugnet.castle, David Eaton writes: <SNIP> (...) That is your opinion, and I shall respect that. Not everyone likes an online story, its just the way the world works. However, I'd like to point out that most all of the subgroups of lugnet (with (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) I'd just like to say that while I have been talking about stories, I do have my own (neglected as it may be). Don't take what I've been saying elsewhere to be anti-story. (...) Personally I see stories as a type of MOC. LEGO castle, especially (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Stickers

these are really great. would you ever sell the civilian ones, especially the women ones.. they are amazing! i especially like how the stickers won't harm the printing, allowing carefree sticking! -lenny (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) Well, it's not that I dislike stories. Far from it. It's merely that in the Lego world it tends to be that a creation inspires a relating story. Hence, I might build X, and create a backstory to enhance it. That's great; I'm all for it. But (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Chapter Four has arrived!

always great! criticism: as time progresses more and more happens quicker, and it seems to start buring it here. i didn't really feel like chap4 was an entire 'age', which would presumably have a solid beginning and end (some historically important (...)   Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

Thanks Bruce, unfortunately I can't take credit for that idea, although I can't remember who did it originally (I have a sneeking suspicion it might have been Lego Interior decorating guru Heather Patey) Just use a 1x2-1x4 bracket to stick it on the (...)   Re: Windy Miller Rides Again

Yes the whole top rotates, sitting on a turntable, and the driveshaft goes through the center of it. I will try and part disassemble it or ldraw the workings so people can see the gubbins inside. I couldn't have done it without the inspiration of (...) (23 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)
