Thanks for the clarification.
And I understand your point.
That ‘many of the concepts are universal.’
And a few similarities are understandable.

But all the similarities…
Too much for coincidence?

It’s just that I know one of the writers at Games Workshop.
And I've read all the stories and published works found in White Dwarf.
It appears as though the pattern is only growing stronger...

I'm bettin’ that Mr. Hamilton is somewhat aware of the connection.
(being in similar industries)
Or that Pawel heard or saw something of it.

However, I'll just take your word on it and call it coincidence.

The Isle of Albion    =    The Isle of Mist?

I'll attempt to reiterate a past post:

Is anyone aware that “The Isle of Mist” is almost EXACTLY the
same as “The Isle of Albion.” Is this Castle World creation meant to mirror
this Warhammer ® game, or did the creators just use it for inspiration?
http://www.games-workshop.com/albion/us/warjournal/warroom.htm

As far as I know, none of the people involved in the creation of the Isle of
Mist have played Warhammer recently, and I didn't hear the word mentioned *at
all* the entire Brickfest weekend, which was when the Isle of Mist was first
conceived.

I'll draw further conclusions to support my conjuncture:

1. Both journeys involve a recently discovered magical island.

So do dozens of other stories/games/etc.  One that pops into my mind right away
is Ultima VII: Serpent Isle.

2. Various different nations and adventurous parties seek the island.

*coughAmericacough*  :)

3. The mist of the island hold magical energy that both nullifies and at
times magnifies mystical spell.

Well, I can't think of any specific examples, but I doubt its a new concept.

4. Unknown creatures stalk the landscape.

Again, what *doesn't* have this?  ;)

5. Ruins of great importance lay hidden within the bogs and lowlands of the
isle.

See above.  :)

6. both versions appeared at around the same time.
       (The Warhammer version appeared 1st.)

Can't explain that, but my vote is coincidence.  :)

And so much more. So if this creation is indeed a coincidental
mirror of the Dark Shadows campaign then that would truly interesting.

I'm pretty sure it is just coincidence.

Jeff
