The Isle of Albion    =    The Isle of Mist?

I'll attempt to reiterate a past post:

Is anyone aware that “The Isle of Mist” is almost EXACTLY the
same as “The Isle of Albion.” Is this Castle World creation meant to mirror
this Warhammer ® game, or did the creators just use it for inspiration?
http://www.games-workshop.com/albion/us/warjournal/warroom.htm

I'll draw further conclusions to support my conjuncture:

1. Both journeys involve a recently discovered magical island.
2. Various different nations and adventurous parties seek the island.
3. The mist of the island hold magical energy that both nullifies and at
times magnifies mystical spell.
4. Unknown creatures stalk the landscape.
5. Ruins of great importance lay hidden within the bogs and lowlands of the
isle.
6. both versions appeared at around the same time.
        (The Warhammer version appeared 1st.)

And so much more. So if this creation is indeed a coincidental
mirror of the Dark Shadows campaign then that would truly interesting.

                      Suspiciously,

                                       --==RiçhärÐ==--

Thanks Shiri, but there's just too many similarities...

Umm, as far as I know, no relation. The idea was first thought up by Nathan
and Pawel on the last night of Brickfest 2001, then later (that same night)
developed further by those two, Chris, and me. Craig used his awesome
artistic talents to draw up a map. (IIRC, parts of it were intended for the
"all-encompassing" CW map that we didn't use due to IOM.) Maybe Nathan or
Pawel had this in mind - but I think the train of thoughts was comparing IOM
to settling the Americas - Colonization, etc.

HTH,
-Shiri
