  MLCad Suggestions

(...) Hi all. I've been looking around for a while now for a decent CAD program for modelling some of my work. I looked at MLCad some time ago and it was pretty decent even then! Back then, Michael was thinking about doing an RCX/Cybermaster (...) (25 years ago, 27-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: MLCad Grouping Feature Specification

(...) Completely different approach then... I used the Raytrace software "Imagine" on the Amiga (quite some time ago) In Imagine there was a similar thing, objects break down in groups and groups break down in faces and faces break down in points.   Re: MLCad Grouping Feature Specification

SHIFT + Left klick will not work, since this is commonly used for extended selections. e.g. Click on a part, than SHIFT click on a part 3 lines below the first part and all parts between get selected too. Also CTRL + left klick is used already, (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: MLCad Grouping Feature Specification

(...) I prefer the toolbar the most and the shortcut as close second. (...) I would like to see it like this: Normal left click selects the group the part belongs to. If the part doesn't belong to a group select the part itself instead. Shift + left (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  MLCad Grouping Feature Specification

Since many people asked for a grouping feature in MLCad, I would like to ask what you think is usefull and how the grouping feature should work. My suggestions so far: - User selects one or more parts and either selects GROUP from a menu or hits a (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) z- (...) Hi Michael I am very interested in doing this, however i am not a genius in programming, its a hobby (together with lego of course) not a profession. It could take a while before things are going. But if you have the patience... I (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

In lugnet.cad.mlcad, Guido Heunen writes: < SNIP > (...) Cool, how about writing a plug-in for MLCad? If you are interested than just drop a note here, and I pass on the information required for a dat->xxx converter. It's still not finished but we (...) I just got a phostcript manual and it seems fairly easy to write a phostcript file. I just (...) (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Michael Lachmann wrote... (...) Sorry, they do seem to work on NT too. I assumed Index was something à la Index in DevStudio/Help/Search... And I cannot tell any difference whether I click on "Contents" or "Index". /Lars (25 years ago, 23-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) BFC is for Back Face Culling. There's been some attempt to define an extension to LDraw, allowing the parts library to include information needed for BFC. There's a semi-formed proposal at (URL). Looking at the revision date, it's exhibiting a (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Help! - MLCAD won't read 754.dat

(...) Thanks for pointing those out. I think those lines should be viewed as *valid*, but not *well-formed*. I'll clean them up, and put the correction in the next parts update. Steve (25 years ago, 22-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: MLCad Suggestions

(...) A DAT->PostScript converter would be awesome, either as a stand-alone utility, or as a plug-in to MLCad. But I don't think it needs to be in the core of MLCad (in other words, maybe someone else can work on this besides Michael? Not that I'm (...) (25 years ago, 21-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Gestural activation is way different than true modal operation - there is no additional interface component (the "specification of operation" is part of the operation itself) and there is no state change either before or after the operation.   Re: Help! - MLCAD won't read 754.dat

The problem is in the dat file itself, due to another problem in MLCad it is reported as if it would not exist. The file 754.dat contains some illegal character-combinations in the lines 29 and 30. Both start with "01" instead of "0" or "1". The (...) (25 years ago, 21-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
