Since many people asked for a grouping feature in MLCad, I would like to ask
what you think is usefull and how the grouping feature should work.
My suggestions so far:
- User selects one or more parts and either selects GROUP from a menu or hits
a short-cut or clicks onto a icon in the tool-bar.
QUESTION: Does it make sence to provide all three possibilities or not? If not
which would you like?
- If the user selects a part which belongs to a group the whole group will be
selected.
QUESTION: Does this make sence? Or how should it work ... I see a problem
getting one part removed from the group (with this solution user would have to
do an ungroup, select the parts again and group again.
If I do not select all of them, the question is how to apply certain operation
to a whole group without overloading the menus and tool-bars, and contiously
asking which group the user means?

| (...) I prefer the toolbar the most and the shortcut as close second. (...) I would like to see it like this: Normal left click selects the group the part belongs to. If the part doesn't belong to a group select the part itself instead. Shift + left (...) (25 years ago, 25-Feb-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
