I use this color number: 0x0000017F,it makes more of a chrome than silver when rendered, but it showes as silver in MLCad.Jay Cal used it first and I got it from one of his .dats that I requested from him. it was this car, You can see how the color (...) You can specify the color in MLCad (silver: #383), but it takes on the characteristics of silver only when it's rendered in POV-ray. --Ryan (23 years ago, 11-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) One more part-finding suggestion: if you're online, use Partsref or Peeron.com. (URL) gives you a list of all the Partsref categories, and a search function. (...) Heh heh. This topic deserves a FAQ all to itself, I think. Anyway, if you see a four or five digit number embossed on the part, that should be the number. Thanks for the help the minifigs guys. As for part numbers, here the story: A while back I was looking for a part to go in a technic model I was building. After looking up the number at Technica, I serched lugnet.cad.parts to find the particular (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I have a couple of questions: 1.) What's the easiest way to put minifigs in your scene? Construction from scratch is a pain and I don't know how to modify the shorcuts in MLCad. 2.) What's the source for part numbers? All I can find is Technica for (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

OK, well after months of using MLCAD to look at other people's creations, I have finally been bitten by the bug to make CAD models of my own stuff. (...) As I understand it, 1 x 1 brick is "3005.dat", but due to a bad alphanumeric order, ALL of the lettered and numbered 1 x 1 bricks (3005-*.dat) come before "3005.dat". Everytime I need to rotate a piece, it moves off the model. Then when I try to place it back where it belongs, it's off center (it's not completely on both of the studs).
