Note to [everyone who is not Sproaticus]: A single inlined reference can be
undone with cut and paste. But if a subfile is inlined more than once in a
single master file, cut and paste won't correctly undo all of the inlines.

Whoops, I almost didn't read that.  :-,

But a cut and paste won't necessarily restore the origin of the sub-model,
will it?

That was my point exactly: the inline operation applies the transform
information from the reference statement on to each of the inlined
statements.  So cut and paste can only move the modified lines into a file
with the same name.

My main reason for using sub-models is to place the origin in a
weird spot, usually for rotation purposes.

That's a big reason to use them.

I agree that MPD is a better format for sub-files, but the critical issue
for me is that LEdit has no way of handling MPD files.

Would it help if I added support for MPD files to LDAO's Editor & Modeller?
