Re: "~moved to" files and parts.lst

(...) LeoCAD does import/export LDraw files and when you load any file (.lcd or .dat) in it, all pieces that had their numbers changed are updated automatically. There's a list of all moved files in the piece library. Leonardo (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I've thought about adding this ability to LDAO's HTML Generator, but I've never done it. I think it would be a really great feature to have. Steve (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Program to create TLG style instructions from .dat files

Hello, I was wondering if there is any program that walks through an ldraw.dat file and generates parts lists for each step of the model? Currently when I find a model on the net I use LDLite to view the model. My LEGO however is not right in front (...) (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: "~moved to" files and parts.lst

I think the real problem is programs that converts its own format to LDraw format, like BlockCAD, LeoCAD(?), and SimLego. (Sorry Leonardo, it was ages since I used your superb program, so I don't even know if it has a built-in LDraw converter). The (...) (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Augh! How to make sure parts-stuff is current?

Hey, y'all: I'm working on adding a feature to LDAO which verifies that parts.lst and the VEC directory are up-to-date. I started to write this post asking if it was worth the effort, but now I'm wondering what steps are even necessary. I think it (...) (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

RE: "~moved to" files and parts.lst

(...) I really doubt people choose a "~Moved to xxx.dat" part when browsing in LEdit! Why should they? It doesn't have a description, so how would you know what part it is? If people are using "~Moved to" parts, it must be because they thought they (...) (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: "~moved to" files and parts.lst

(...) I double-checked this, and what Terry says is true for LDAO. Which is good. The bad news is that LDAO simply replaces the old part number with the new part number. It should be doing an inline operation. Steve (26 years ago, 26-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  three wheeler piece

Re: "~moved to" files and parts.lst

(...) Oo. That one gets a big "I don't remember" from me. I am in the middle of re-writing the way LDAO checks & maintains parts.lst & the VEC, so I could easily add some extra code for a moved-to list. Steve (26 years ago, 24-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
