(...) Good catch--I was making assumptions. I really wish the discussion you fired off a few months ago had gone through to completion. BUT, take a look at (URL).   Re: Parts Library Posted to ldraw.org

(...) How do you know that? I've never seen any formal terms of use statement for the community created part files. With this lacking, wouldn't it be natural for parts authors to assume that submitted parts follow the same terms of use as the (...) (24 years ago, 12-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Parts Library Posted to ldraw.org

(...) Good point. I will check into this. In the meantime, don't anyone plan anything permanent around this function. If this is a problem, it would only apply to the parts in the original LDraw file library, not to additional work done by LCadders. (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Parts Library Posted to ldraw.org

It is probably a good idea to serve parts directly from ldraw.org like this. However, I would like to know if this is consistent with the terms of use for the LDraw parts library. Specifically, I seem to remember from previous discussions that James (...) (24 years ago, 11-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Parts Library Posted to ldraw.org

There has been some talk about serving LDraw parts directly from ldraw.org, mostly to allow rendering programs to fetch part-files over the internet. To get a start on such a service, the parts library has been made available via http (it's not (...) (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  LDraw CD-ROM - Another Update

Re: Spring2dat an utility tool to create shock absorber springs

(...) Hello Marc, Nice work. Would it be a good idea to extend your program in such a way that it is able to generate complete shortcuts for the different parts that contain a spring coil ? I imagine you could pick what type of part you want, and (...) (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Spring2dat an utility tool to create shock absorber springs

Your spring2dat tools looks like it would work for the pneumatic pump cylinders, which also have springs of this nature. Now finally I can delete the (...)   Spring2dat an utility tool to create shock absorber springs

I have developped a new utility tool to help creating springs for shock absorber. It is specially usefull for springs that are outside the part like the 2909 Technic Big Shock absorber. The program is available here (URL) Klein A Mindstorms fan. (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDraw on Mac (Off Topic)

(...) Unfortunately VPC is rather processor-intensive. I have a G3 Powerbook 266 and Windows 98 runs pretty dern slow. However it is liveable and I have also ran VPC on my Performa 6400/200 at about 486 speeds. Good luck! (24 years ago, 10-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDraw on Mac (Off Topic)

(...) What type of Mac do you have? I hope that VPC isn't too processor-intensive or anything, because I'm running on an older PowerBase 240. Thanks a lot for the help, though! I hope to install VPC either today or tomorrow. Sonny (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  reminder: bug in piece #2500c01

I'd like to take this opportunity to note a persistent, unfixed bug: piece 2500c01.dat has a reference to 4-4cone1.dat, which doesn't exist. now, we have two seperate '4-4cone' primitives: 4-4con1.dat (originally 4-4con12.dat, renamed in august 99) (...)
