I'd like to take this opportunity to note a persistent, unfixed bug:
piece 2500c01.dat has a reference to 4-4cone1.dat, which doesn't exist.

now, we have two seperate '4-4cone' primitives:
4-4con1.dat (originally 4-4con12.dat, renamed in august 99)
4-4con12.dat (replaced 'old' 4-4con12.dat in october 99)

Which of the two is it SUPPOSED to be, or is it an entirely missing primitive?

It should be 4-4con1.dat.  I will make sure this is fixed.  In the next
update.

Also, l3lab complains that certain primitive files (2-4edge.dat, notably) have
lines in them with edge-color #24.
is this a bug? or is it harmless? should it be fixed?

I haven't seen l3lab complain about 2-4edge.  L3lab certainly doesn't like
s\973s01.dat, the blank subpart for the minifig torso, because the printed
rectangle on the neck is done with color 24, and L3Lab doesn't think
subfiles should use color 24.  This is generally a valid warning, because
people will sometimes try to reference the X-Xedge.dat primitives with
color 24, when they should use color 16.  But in this case, the use of
color 24 is deliberate, and not a mistake.
