Re: My proposal for new element orientation

Since this was posted to .cad instead of .cad.dev, here it is again: (...) There is the word "LEGO" on the studs... we could orient pieces so that "LEGO" is right-side up when seen from the front 3/4 view (for pieces with studs up, of course) (...) (...) (...) But in POV-Ray you can always add .000...0001 to the y value of the lower surface to make it render correctly (Which makes creating simple scenes much easier). --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com ---...---oooo-----(_...o---...--- WWW: (...) (...) In real life the joins between the curved surfaces are smoothed. I approximated this by drawing the cylinders, but missing out the junction lines you refer to. It is a tricky part to model accurately and has no possible use (IMHO) except (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Correcting positioning and rotational errors can be done when/if a part renumbered. Which doesn't really happen all that often (it just seems like it). Steve (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: DAT voting page up

(...) I can understand that -- those thin-wall parts with decoration drive me crazy, because the decoration isn't visible in the default view. (...) I thought about Electric, and I'd be OK with that.   Re: DAT voting page up

(...) I wondered about that? Is it a problem if the surfaces are the same color? I'm asking because (a) I've used mono-colored coincident surfaces before, and (b) I'm working on one now. The O in the Octan logo is round on the outside, but oval'ed (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Here are some notes on pieces I've looked at. I'll post more after I've looked at the others. I'm not claiming I've done a complete review of everything, just looked at some parts in different views, scanned the code for obvious anomolies. Steve (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: My proposal for the orientation of new elements
