Re: LDraw-to-Raves (was: POV in Part)

(...) [snip stuff about ldraw-to-Anton] (...) Not yet -- this project's been back-burnered for a bit. I finished making the wrapper files, and got distracted. Steve (21 years ago, 12-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Question about the layering of dithered colors  [DAT]

dear senior authors, I'm currently working on vector-versions of the two space-bricks 1x6x5 (tony hafner uploaded hires-scans on brickshelf and you can see them in his gallery on (URL) I plan to make usage of a multipart-file for the border and (...)   Re: New part - Castle Wall

(...) Hello, I already corrected that part according to Bernd's picture and remarks. Thanks again, Bernd. Please check the result here (URL) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) [snip] (...) Hi Steve, Have you contacted Anton about this? He's not a bad guy and is willing to help where needed. Jeroen (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New part - Castle Wall

In lugnet.cad, Bernd Broich wrote: < snip...> (...) I'd rather call it challenging :-)) But you are right. It shouldn't be our usuall way of working. It is sufficient for mock-ups and that was my first intention. Because result was pretty good I (...) (21 years ago, 8-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: WOULD YOU PLEASE...

(...) I strongly recommend to any part author to also register as a part reviewer. Then at least you can reply comments to votes on your own parts. I am sure you have been listened and your preferences regarding reviewer attitude will be taken into (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New part - Castle Wall

(...) It's a little bit risky to make a part only from instruction scans. But never mind it's nearly correct. I'll send you a picture from the bottom. CU Bernd (21 years ago, 7-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  New part - Castle Wall

Dear All, I hit on an idea to build CAD model of Royal Knight's Castle from set 6090. In certain moment I found that one part from this set has been never created, so I decided to create it myself. It is a part 6055 named "Castle Wall 6 x 6 x 6 (...) (21 years ago, 7-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: WOULD YOU PLEASE...

(...) I can understand you. But I think primitives with are used by a lot of parts should be available to change by anyone. In the other hand a _part_ (or subpart) should never changed if it's on the PT. CU Bernd (21 years ago, 7-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Torus Primitives on the Part Tracker

(...) Cool! (...) More cool! (...) the two related part files, neither of which is certified, I'd say go ahead and update t04q3333.dat. (...) Certainly. Steve (21 years ago, 6-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

  Re: WOULD YOU PLEASE...

[crossposted to lugnet.cad.dev, with followup-to set there as well -- this thread isn't about posting LDR files to lugnet] (...) If anyone is not sure about the general rule/protocol/guidelines on this: for new parts (not fixes), you should *always* (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: New Primitive Class

(...) If we can only create outside sections,[1] why not keep the leading t, but change the i/o/q? Maybe x, for extended? As for the ratio decimals in the file name, instead of noting the tube:major ratio (which is >1), use the inverse major:tube (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: WOULD YOU PLEASE...

(...) Woah, hold it there cowboy. The ONLY fix I will apply to a part not already submitted as a fix would be to slightly adjust the part position. I feel that small and minor errors can be fixed by anyone and would only fly off the handle (ok, I (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  WOULD YOU PLEASE...

...yes, would you please ask PERMISSION before you mess up my code! Yes I'm angry, but I'm so sick! currently there is spreading a rude behaviour at the PT, especially by the reviewers. grabbing a part and fix an error before an author can get a (...)   Re: New Primitive Class

(...) This topic still needs some approval before we nac move it to finalization. We have been discussing torii(toruses) where the tube radius is equal or greater than the major radius. This only works for the outside sections since the inside (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Torus Primitives on the Part Tracker

Hello, I have been updating some of the torus primitve files to use quads, and conditional lines instead of cylinder primitves. I have had too many problems getting the cylinder files to show without gaps. I have a new tool that can generate any (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

PARTS.LST searching. (Was: Re: Part Fix 3959 Space Gun)

(...) Right now it seems to be listed on the parts tracker as "Bar 1.5L with Handle and Female Stud". I just added a PARTS.LST search capability to ldglite: (URL) there's nothing in that name that would help me narrow the search to find the part. (...)   Re: Part Fix 3959 Space Gun

(...) I want to reopen this discussion for two reasons. 1) We are having a "discussion" on parts tracker about this part. That's the wrong way to do things, in my view. I placed a hold, the current author responded with counter arguments and we now (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jul-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)
