The purpose is to define default rotation centers for parts. This can be defined by a directive placed in parts and
primitives. The primitives that should contain the rotation center axis directive are:
- axleholes
- pegholes
- studs
- may be complete cylinders
Placing the rotation center directive into these primitives will bring the functionnallity to many parts with less
effort. The part that do not use these primitives should be updated manually.
Two type of rotation centers:
- rotation center point that allows to turn in all 3 axes
- rotation center axis that allows to turn only around that axis
Syntax:
0 ROTATION CENTER x y z
0 ROTATION AXIS x1 y1 z1 x2 y2 z2
To use the directives, the Ldraw Cad software let the user choose an axis from a part and then fix the rotation center.
A list of all axis present in the part and its subparts should be displayed with a visualisation of the axis to help
choosing graphically.
What do you think about that idea ?
