It certainly claims to. However, if so, it’s really well hidden.

Just drop your ldraw models into your “My Documents/LEGO Creations/Models” directory and then open LDD and click on the model in the open dialog (it will have a yellow brick as an icon).

To export them append .ldr to the model when saving the model in LDD.

OK, I have to admit that this seems to work very well. (Well, exporting anyway; importing seems more hit and miss due to part constraints in LDD.) Having said that, I’d like to request here that this be added to the documentation. It’s certainly not intuitive in the overall scheme of the LDD design. (Mind you, I think it’s great that it’s so simple, but I never would have considered doing that.)

Note that it only works with offical ldraw parts at the moment and will drop bricks it doesn’t know about during the conversion so always keep a backup in the original format.

Is it safe to say that any LDD-supported part that shows up in ldraw.xml in the database directory will automatically be supported?

   Hope that helps,

It certainly does; thanks.
