I'm assuming that it won't cope with .mpd files in a similar way?

LDD can load mpd files but it flattens them during the loading process (LDD
doesn't support grouping or subassemblies). When you save it out again it will
be saved out as a flat list of bricks so remember to keep a backup.

Thats even cooler, I have absolutely no problems living without the sub
assemblies feature as long as it include the part in the LDD model
(yay, all my Ldraw MOCs are .mpds)

Tim

Having tried some .mpd files it seems to be a bit selective as to how well it
copes. Some sub-assemblies seem to come out perfectly, while others are
misplaced and some missing completely. It still works far better than I though
it would.

I'm also pleasantly suprised by the amount of elements that are available, many
that I was expecting to see missing from my imported models.
