Well, I think it would be reasonable to have a default value based on hose type,
but allow the user to change it if they want (or need) to. The default should
try to mimic the real hose as closely as possible. The problem with the pneumo
hose is probably based on the fact that people using it for pneumatic
applications usually try to minimise the sharp curves to avoid kinks, so have
never required the extra bendiness. Unfortunately, some of us use it for other
stuff...

Well I can't see a need for it right now, but if it can be done fairly easily I
suppose it's worth investigating.
