Re: It's all about perspective (was Re: Teaser for all you Terragen Addicts :P)

(...) Ahhh, I see what I was doiong wrong. I was putting the scale command and the very end. No wonder my images were all messed up. Well I finally got it, somewhat decent image. Check it out here: (URL) the rotate command doesn't seem to be workig (...) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Two questions on primitives

Two questions (if these have already been discussed, just direct me to the appropriate LUGNET post): 1.) I've noticed the new BFC complient primitives on the Parts Tracker. How are we going to resolve the fact that the cylindar primitve can be used (...) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

RE: It's all about perspective (was Re: Teaser for all you Terragen Addicts :P)

(...) You do know that in the "object { mymodel_dot_ldr ... }" line near the very end of your pov file, you can add "scale .1" before the } to shrink the model, right? You can also use translate <x,y,z> and rotate <x,y,z> to change the orientation (...) (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

It's all about perspective (was Re: Teaser for all you Terragen Addicts :P)

<snip> (...) Well here is my 1st attempt at cut/paste of my ldraw model into forester and then thru POV. (URL) on BigModel.jpg I guess the minifigs have found a 'small world' =) AHui (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Animation

No, I am working on it alone. I didn't knew there was already something out there for this kind of stuff. Roland (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New Part - 2587 Knights Armor

(...) I tried this with real parts and find that there is a conflict in real life. If I put the head on the torso+armour first then add the helmet then the chin strap does not go as far below the grin as when I put the helmet on the head alone. If I (...)   Re: Hi-res sphere?

(...) I wrote a tool for generating a 1/8 sphere (including type 5 lines) for a mock-up part I made once. Write me if you want a copy of the source code. Jacob (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Rotation/scaling matrices... reference?

(...) Well, in the order from easy to difficult: Near the bottom of this page: (URL) written something about manipuating 3D-Ldraw objects with matrices, it's the section starting with the line "Manfred Moolhuysen writes:".   LDAO Editor Error & Crash

Hi Steve, Perhaps this is old news, but i noticed an error in the LDAO EDITOR. When Selecting OPTIONS | VIEW SETTINGS , i get an RUNTIME ERROR 5 - INVALID PROCEDURE CALL OR ARGUMENT.   New Part : Was Re: 9V Track Crossing (32087.dat)  [DAT]

In lugnet.cad.dat.parts, Ludo Soete writes: Hi, Here's the promissed Train Track 9V Crossing. It uses four subparts. Two of them are used in the Train Track 9V Straight, two are new. Those subfiles are: 2865s04.dat 2865s06.dat 32087s01.dat (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Rotation/scaling matrices... reference?

Okay, I think I've pretty much reached the limit of what I can do with my "experimental" approach to dealing with matrices. I did learn today that yes, you can use it to skew, at least with 2D objects... that's darn handy for printing on slopes. Now (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Part files?

(...) I suspect it's probably because the linux files use lowercase filenames. In the notes Andrew mentions that it's important to use uppercase folder names for the OS 8-9 version of ldglite. (URL) not sure why, but I think the old MAC parts (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Part files?

I figured we need a parts file that will work with the 3 different apps: BrickDraw3D, ldglite (os 8-9), and ldglite (os x). I got the linux parts to work with ldglite (os x), so I figured I would test those with BrickDraw3D and ldglite (os 8-9). (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Liftarm width

(...) Yes, liftarm parts should be 18 LDU wide. Skinny liftarms should be 10 LDU tall, full-liftarms (aka, smooth beams) should be 20 LDU tall. Steve (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: New Part - 2587 Knights Armor  [DAT]

Hi all, I tested my armor in ensemble wtih a helmet and what I had to notice, there is a ovelapping with it. I looked at the real parts and I found that the helmet is in the bottom to sloping. Look here: 1 7 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 2587.dat 1 1 0 0 (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Teaser for all you Terragen Addicts :P

snip (...) Well, you don't need pov-ray other than to make the actual file. You need to get the .pov file into a .inc file WITHOUT any camera, background etc. Just the pure mesh :) Its quite complicated, remember there will be a tutorial for this in (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Teaser for all you Terragen Addicts :P

(...) What do you mean? Can I import a .pov file into forester in order to place it? Are you saying that I can create my lego-plane .pov file and then somehow import it? I did not think this was possible? Perhaps an easier thing to do, although I'm (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)
