Where did Bryce once mention that posting MOCs is a requirement for
participation? I've read his message numerous times now and I don't see
where he mentions this at all.
By this logic, I should be able to post in .train and have similar
status/recognition as Larry P.? I don't think so. Posting MOCs of a certain
type does lend to your credibility as a builder of that type of MOC. The
more credibility you carry, the more you are 'looked up to' and asked for
advice more often within that particular building community. I'd prefer to
ask Lar how to build a train or Shiri a castle then go to Bryce for the same
advice.
I'd agree that while no one is required to post MOCs in order to take part
in a discussion, it certainly doesn't hurt one's credibility to do so.

You called that one right, Bryce. It is being picked apart which is what
happens when you post something PUBLICLY. I wish some folks would pay

Building is the only way we grow as builders. Sitting and talking about
building accomplishes nothing but endless flame wars.

I know the feeling. Too bad they don't have enough sense to think before
they post.

For the same reason I feel compelled to post in .casle or .train-to be
heard. There's no crime in that. Anyone who doesn't want to view a group
should filter it out. I can't tell you the last time I read a message in
Italian thanks to Lugnet's filtering capability. :)

That's a double-edged sword, Bryce. To be part of a group is to open
yourself up to constant criticism. Many people aren't comfortable with doing
that.

Posting and recieving praise isn't a bad thing, but posting for the sheer
desire to recieve praise is.
