I completely agree, he phrased everything as it was coming from his point of
view, and he was merely trying to start discussion about what other people
thought was the best out there. Sadly some people took it as an insult and
it escalated from there. Heck, even I was hoping to have some mention in
there, but I didn't feel sad or depressed when I wasn't. In any type of
award show, such as the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, etc. there are plenty
of people who never win, and I'm sure the winners (if they have good values
and all) also want to acknowledge everyone else. And of course even at that,
those awards are all the opinion of someone, judges or actual shows where
people vote. In the end all praise will leave some people out. A good
example are these two girls in my eighth grade class. One ran for President,
and the other for Vice President in the student council. They both expected
to win, however only one of them was voted to the position there were
running for, and they were both very sad. Just as some people here were
upset that they were on the list and others weren't, and some might've been
slightly annoyed that they weren't on there, this is nothing big, merely but
a small moment in time that will fade away. No need to keep it hanging
around.. plus I was sort of hoping it would grow into some sort of
discussion of sorts about the best mecha out there.. hmmm... a good idea
might've been to look at each mecha builder and choose out their best mecha
and put it on a list? That'd be fair to everyone, but this is all merely
hypothetical thinking.

| (...) Hey there, Pete! I love the idea of a discussion about the best mecha creations, It's a listing that should bring out some obscure designs that haven't been seen for a while, but are still cool nonetheless. I'm not certain that your idea about (...) (23 years ago, 14-Jan-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)
