First off, I'm quoting your message with one of the latter paragraphs first:

I would suggest if you want to make your point and have it be well accepted
by the person you are targeting it at, you try not to insult them or attack
in such a harsh way. I certainly don't think you are being 'nice' about this.

I posted here to have my views heard. A situation (the thread) came up
which I was concerned about. I posted. No crime on my part. Perhaps my
views would have been better received by a couple more people had I had more
credibility in build.mecha. But reading the replies I have gotten, I think
that most agree - or if they disagree, very few have said anything about it.
And in almost all situations, not everyone will agree with you, so I'm
certainly not shaken that a couple people don't share my opinion on this.

I am replying to this publicly because of the inflammatory nature of your
post. I debated replying or leaving it unreplied to, I feel this is better.
After this post, I won't 'clutter' build.mecha with my comments on this
matter. My further discussion of the issue will take place either in
off-topic.debate or via personal email.

To reply to this and your request above for me not to post here at all:
I don't know who you are, and I don't care either. I don't know who you
think you are to tell me not to post in a group when I have full posting
privileges and am discussing on topic to the thread, which centered around a
social situation of the group it was in.
Nevertheless, I understand now this disucssion is wandering off-topic, and I
have acknowledged that this is my last post to build.mecha on this subject.

If you (the active ingredient here) are directly insulted (by your own
choice) by what I have to say here, I think that is pretty sad.
Nonetheless, suit yourself. Feel free to walk around acting offended at
things people say, I won't stop you.

Seeing that at no point did I accuse anyone by name, I never made a personal
accusation.
Also, its generally accepted for groups to wander off-topic from time to
time. LUGNET has a set of off-topic groups to handle the wildly off-topic
discussions. But, this thread pertained to the group of people posting
here, so I agrue that it was on-topic for discussion here. It is wandering
off-topic now though.

My comments certainly pertain to the community. And realize your pathetic
attempts at insults do absolutely nothing for me, except perhaps make me not
want to listen to what you have to say (the insults really diminish the
point you are trying to make in my eyes). Which my guess is that's not what
you want.

I have to ask, where are you pulling this from? Where did I insult anyone's
intelligence here? You make accusations towards me and have no way to back
them up.
I didn't share my full opinion because I have a sense of what is appropriate
for public discussion and what isn't. I also know enough to understand that
personal insults do nothing to make the target of your message more
sympathetic to your views.
