Hey Greg
The hardest part of building a mech is visualizing in your head what is it that
you want to build?  Once you have that done, everything else is a matter of
time to build things just right.  The second hardest part is getting the mechs
started.  The first piece of any Lego project is of great importance, so here
is what I would suggest.

Use no more than fifty pieces to visualize the size of the legs that you are
going to be building.  This will give you their height and from there you can
visualize the size of the torso that you need.  Build the torso first and then
start attaching the rest to it, building the head first and finishing the legs
last.

Have fun constructing.

While building a mech, what is the hardest part for you to make? I always
have tons of trouble making the head look decent and properly proportioned
with the rest of the body. Arms are another one of my weak points. I'd like
to hear what others think.
