I seem to always follow the same steps while building a bipedal Mech;

Head
Hands
Arms
Shoulder to Chest
Chest to Abdomen
Abdomen to Back
Back to Pelvis
Pelvis and hip
Then....

Feet to Ankle
Ankle to Knee Joint
Knee Joint to Upper Leg

Then....
Pelvis and Hip to Upper Leg

Then detail to taste.

Cool, I never told anybody this stuff before!

Wow, that is one heck of an attack plan! But you probably have to have one
like that because of the scale you build at. The biggest my mecha ever get
is about eight to ten inches, maybe a foot at the very largest. My plan is
usually something like this:
hips/pelvis
upper leg
knee
lower leg
ankle
feet
torso (usually built from the bottom up)
shoulders
arms and all their joints
head
