Ankles.
If the ankles aren't strong, then it ain't gonna stand. I have a design in
my head for what I think will be a good strong ankle, but I gotta get me
some more o' them ball joint thingys first.
As far as heads go, I think you're safe to err on the small side. If you
give a mecha a disproportionately small head, it just makes the mecha look
more hulking. Case in point: my Hardygun MkII. I made the head on that one
small on purpose, to emphasize the massive shoulders. As long as you don't
make the head look too big, you should be all right.
As far as arms go, I think if you just put some detail greeblies on there in
a pleasing manner and try not to let them look too skinny, you'll do fine.
