I remember this exquisite monstrosity. It looks like he would have a definite “spring in his step”. I don’t know if this kind of tech could hold a toe pose for long though.

It would be quite interesting to make a mecha that used tendons everywhere instead of gears... you’d still need a mechanism to tighten and loosen them however, maybe with pneumatic pistons buried deep inside the beast, tugging on strings through pulleys.
