Hmmm, I'm a little confused, please explain. Hips more unders the waist?
Like more compact? right?

Not more compact per se. Just under the waist so the thighs don't jut out so
much.

Oh ok, got ya.

When I build, I find a good rule of thumb is to make the hips narrow as compared
to the shoulders. In this case, using the rotational click hinges, the female
socket end for both inner hip connections, are both 4L.

So they are as close together (the hips being 8 wide) as possible, since they
are laying horizontally. A more compact solution is to use the 2x2 box socket
housing, much as Chris Snead did with his awesome Andromeda Mecha.
I wanted to keep it all dark gray, so I used the whole Technic assembly.

That was the design method. Though, next time around, maybe an added challenge
is to make smaller hips.

But that's only a small comment and we've talked about it before. I'm just
tryin' to say something other than "kool 100!!!/10!!!!OMG!!11"

Please do, our discussions have always focused on brick talk.
That is what I am most interested in.

Unlike Mladen I'm wanting some other color in there somewhere. Maybe just a
splash of the green?

I was trying to add more Trans Green, Everything looked "Stuck on" and I was
trying to learn from past feedback. Still, it is rather drab and >monochromatic.
In a way, I like that about it.

I like the monochromatic too in some ways. You know how it is, sometimes the
intent drives the asthetics. I think you were going more Gundam/military. In
that sense the grey is perfect (except for big arse guns).

In this case the more I built, the more I did not see a good way to add color
without it being to much of a distraction. Like if I added red, it was loud, if
I added black, I was overwhelmed, if I added yellow, it was not the right
choice, adding white is an option for a larger design, though I'd need to do
preparation sorting for that color.

Dark gray was what I had on hand to work with.

I'd like to mention this idea I use when deciding what colors to work with and
how big a given creation will be. Maybe it will be helpful to other builders:

When I build, I look to see what colors I have and if each color has adequete
parts to build a complete creation.

A smaller creation, can use mostly all one color plus one or more accent colors.
A large creation, can use a combination of colors to help create the size, plus
one or more aceent colors.

So, (for me) when I build small, it is usually monochromatic, when I build
bigger, say 3 foot tall Mecha, I use two or more colors for the primary
structure.

Vast sums of one color have been collected for Robotics projects.

OMG! 2 posts in one day! *faints*

If you got the guts the the and time here or there, why not reach out to others?

;)
