Thank you. That means a lot to me.

- refreshingly different from the usual Sophie-mecha.
|
Help me out, what do you mean?
|
Mostly its the face and the feet - much more refined, less formulaic and
clunky. More delicate.
|
That is one of my goals, to aim toward a more refined fluid look.
Always has been after I spent the night with
Agiel.

|
The other creations I make all usually have the goal of being able to stand
without aid. That is why I use worm gears so much. btw, is that what you mean
by usual Sophie-Mecha? Or are all the slopes I reguarlly use making it an
issue?
|
Oh, I am stepping in it here, but Ill go right ahead and say it:
|
No need to act like your on egg shells, I asked didnt I? Please go ahead by all
means....
|
all, or most,
of your mecha are built in a single color, with generally the same set of
proportions, and vary mostly in minor details. seen one, seen em all? no, but
if youve seen one you have a good idea of what to expect. This model breaks
that mold, and I like that.
|
Earlier in the thread I mentioned to Bryce:
Id like to mention this idea I use when deciding what colors to work with and
how big a given creation will be. Maybe it will be helpful to other builders:
When I build, I look to see what colors I have and if each color has adequete
parts to build a complete creation.
A smaller creation, can use mostly all one color plus one or more accent colors.
A large creation, can use a combination of colors to help create the size, plus
one or more accent colors.
So, (for me) when I build small, it is usually monochromatic, when I build
bigger, say 3 foot tall Mecha, I use two or more colors for the primary
structure.
|
Im still waiting for you to try a different set of
proportions, and more complex colors, but its a step in a direction Id like
to see you move in.
|
I will. It takes time. You know its hard to finally explore all these
possibilities, and to get good enough to make it work well.
Learning, gaining experience. In time every idea can be made real, hopefuly.
Though, I too want to try these things. I just had to run my own gamut of
exploration until these ideas can pass within my reach.
More colors, sure. Different kinds of proportions, absolutely.
Reaching for whats possible with Lego is the grand experiment.
It still takes putting one brick together at a time, in this case whole MOCs.
I just havnt gotten there there yet.
|
And now, the betting pool starts on how youll decide to take this.
|
Why? Is the usual talking going on? Are your thoughts directed to me not your
own, or counsuled by others?
Awwww forget that part, things are nice as is.
Back to the feedback NOT the negative stuff.
Thanks
