  Re: New 2006 space/mecha sets

The story line is here: (URL) "but the robots revolted..." Why do the humans always spin it this way. The robots were oppressed. They just wanted freedom. Their human masters were irrational and decadent. I'm rooting for the robots. Look at their (...) (19 years ago, 4-Dec-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New 2006 space/mecha sets

Hmm - cant get those in the uk on S@H - they are still focussing on starwars and the Dino 2010 range. With this Dino 2010 range - are the dinosours all one moulded peice, or are there seperate peices that might lend to some interesting creations (...)   New 2006 space/mecha sets

I'm surprised no one pointed these out yet. (URL) Saw 7705 in Toys 'R' Us as well. These things look like pretty sweet parts sets for space and mecha. Kind of bummer those freaky hair anime figs don't have helments though. The robot figs look really (...) (19 years ago, 4-Dec-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX) !

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) I remember this exquisite monstrosity. It looks like he would have a definite "spring in his step". I don't know if this kind of tech could hold a toe pose for long though. It would be quite interesting to make a mecha that used tendons (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) Cool. Definitely better than a flat foot. That's exactly what I'm talking about, although for a supermassive mecha I'd need to have this toe joint be either worm gear controlled or have an adjustable strut of some kind that forms a triangle to (...)   Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) It seemed awkward for me at first, Danny, but surprisingly I got used to it. (...) The central structure component or the leg mainframe as I have come to call it, is extremely strong. The biggest structural issue I had was with centering the (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

Hi all, I feel kind of cheeky, posting to the thread without a word on the mecha itself. It has an awesome look about it - and I realy have a thing for tripods - this one really does live up to the image. Its interesting having real stats as well (...)   Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Not a problem, E, I know how hard it can be to pull yourself way from a project when the creative juices are flowing! It's like pulling teeth sometimes. (...)   Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Excellent, my plan is working perfectly....mmuuuahhahha. All silliness aside, Yes Marco, it is possible to rotate the feet. I guess that means I did a good job of concealing that particular joint joint. (...) snip Glad you liked it! -Jon (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: My first mecha

Hey that's great! I really like seeing how other builders go about building. Refreshing. Congrats on your first Mech and the commission! Stop by ,more often. e (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Hi Jon! Pardon the late reply, I have been building (URL) something>. This thing is a monster! The treds, the imposing look! Judge me not, I'm gonna run away!   Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) -snip- (...) I remember. That set up is too cool. Did Bryce mention that the toes can apply pressure to the ground? Plus the tubes really add to the tension and channel the weight. Ubber cool and crazy looking. e (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) -snip- (...) Ahh, like more of a toe, ball of your foot combo. I agree, more articulation in the feet is the future. Infact, I always wanted to build somthing that can haunch down like a Gargoyle peering over a ledge. e (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: My first mecha

(...) Hi Sean, you've got every reason to be happy. This is a fabulous first one. As I could see in your gallery your not a beginner. (...) Please keep building mecha! (URL) Marco> (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

(...) I made a foot with toes that have give to allow it to stand on the balls of its feet. Though it's all gussied up with Bionicle stuff the concept still works. The tubes provide a kind of spring/tendon type support. (URL) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

(...) Hello Jon, (...) I'd sign too for all of the above. One question on the treads: is it possible to turn the feet so that all the treads are heading in one direction? I could't figure that out from the pics. (...) Once again I agree to 100%. (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

  Re: New Mecha: The Tribunal

  Re: My first mecha

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

  Re: New Mecha: The Cub

Though more of a sculpture, without the joint mobility and Technic drive gizmos, it's an interesting design exploration. The head is still somewhat insectoid, but more armored.   My first mecha

Hi, everyone! I'm normally all about architecture, sculpture, and whatnot, and I've never built any serious sci-fi.
