I just finished my latest Mecha, I call it Tribunal. You WILL be judged!!

Jon, this is rather an ambitious project, given its size, the triangular leg configuration (cool method of connecting the torso), and the wicked awesome tank treads on the feet.

and to think I almost abandoned this project when Mark posted his mecha tank!

I like this mix of colors, but I would have liked to see them grouped tighter/isolated better.

Maybe on my next design, but this one was built out of what I had available in the tan , brown, and that wierd color I have yet to name

I also like the hoses, and the SNOTted-in railing sections as greebles. I think your work continues to improve.

Thank you, little by little I’m trying different building techniques. Greebling doesn’t come naturally to me, but I am trying to implement it as I go.Unfortunately, since all my mecha are intended to be used as miniatures in the game I run, it has a major effect on my design style. It limits what construction methods I use. Especially with joints because if a unit loses an appendage during game play, I like to be able to quickly and cleanly remove it.

I hope you don’t mind, but I wanted to give you a photo editing tip that I wish someone had given me long ago (if you look at all the too-dark pics in my Brickshelf folder you’ll see what I mean). Whatever software you use (there is a free download called the GIMP, which I use), you select the “levels” tool, and use the “pick white point” option. Then you click somewhere on your white background that you want to turn pure white, and the rest of your image will correct itself to match. This can brighten up a dull shot, and give it some “pop”. I did it with your first Tribunal pic:

Thanks for the info, I’ll have to try it. Believe it or not, the picture you tweaked had already been brightened by 40% from the original. Aah, well, my photography still needs work.

I appreciate your honest critique and will keep your thoughts in mind on my next build. I can’t wait to see what you build next!
