what's the typical success ratio out there?
am i the only one who doesn't have every
MOC turn out wonderful on the first try ;-)

Like a lot of other people, I build parts of models to try different building
techniques & to figure out how many parts they'll take. Lots of models don't
make it past this point :-( If a model does get through this stage, I usally
build several versions of it before I'm satisfied with the result.

If something gets this far, it usually gets finished. It may just take a loooong
time to get there. Case in point - I've been working on a 50's style rocketship
on and off for the last year or so. I've just recently picked it up again, but
who knows when it'll be finished.
