Re: wishin' on a star —Deborah Higdon
(...) thanks! i used mlcad to put one, two or more pieces together, took a jpg photo then went into photo-paint to doctor it up. (...) it's the smaller version of the bell jar but it has no centre stud, therefore when used upside down, has a lovely (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —Larry Pieniazek
(...) As I suspected. Your surgery worked! (...) Ah, OK. So is it only 1 stud around or is it a 2x2? The view you chose didn't make that clear. For a couple of these parts showing them in use with another part, or showing several angles, might (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —Deborah Higdon
(...) it's a 2x2x2. (...) unfortunately, i'm flying by the seat of my pants here. while i figured out how to go from mlcad drawing to jpg to photo-paint, i haven't figured out the reverse process. now that i've got a new piece, how do i get it back (...)          Re: wishin' on a star —David Laswell
(...) I think you meant 2x2x1, since those are the dimensions of the R2-D2 head (the taller version is still only 2x2x1-2/3). (...) If you can get parts out to photo-paint to turn into new pieces, just build the rest of the stuff in mlcad, bring it (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —Darrell Urbien
(...) Deborah (and others) I made this offer awhile ago but had no takers - what the heck, I'll make it again here. If anyone has "wish list" parts they'd like to use in MLCAD but doesn't necessarily know how to author dat files, there's another way (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —David Laswell
(...) The stud notches pretty much peg it as a 2x2. (...) I was able to figure them all out without any trouble, with only a few exceptions: 1. Double-ended clip plate (not sure why the other two variants weren't included). 4. 1x1 round tile. 6. (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —David Laswell
(...) You're thinking too hard and not looking at all of the evidence. It's the only part in the entire list that's upside-down, so there must be something significant to the bottom. You can also see the stud on the top peeking out, which is way (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —Larry Pieniazek
(...) I'd say, given that you posted such a detailed analysis of all the parts, with a running point by point commentary, that you're the one thinking too hard, but that's just me. I think a better approach than analysing in depth is to just ask the (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —Deborah Higdon
(...) that was the point of the original post - entertainment.          Re: wishin' on a star —David Laswell
(...) Not at all. Well, maybe with my second guess on #13, but that's a matter of the evidence (i.e. the original mlcad plate that it was modified from) being flawed. For everything else I clearly thought just hard enough, since I pegged them all. (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jul-04, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: wishin' on a star —Deborah Higdon

Re: wishin' on a star —David Laswell
(...) Yeah, it does clear up a few questions...though the description of part #17 looks a bit mixed up. As I said earlier, the part you based it on is 2x2x1, not 2x2x2, and you listed it as being "without center stud", when you showed it without the (...)          Re: wishin' on a star —Mike Kollross
snippage (...) snippage I have a hack that does the same thing.
