You’re thinking too hard and not looking at all of the evidence.

I’d say, given that you posted such a detailed analysis of all the parts,
with a running point by point commentary, that you’re the one thinking too
hard, but that’s just me.
I think a better approach than analysing in depth is to just ask the
originator what she had in mind. Which is what I was doing and having a good
time with, actually.

It’s the
only part in the entire list that’s upside-down, so there must be something
significant to the bottom. You can also see the stud on the top peeking
out, which is way undersized for something that’s designed to fit down over
a 1x1 tile and lock on with those notches. Most importantly, why would
someone want a dome top that can only clips over a 1x1 tile, plate, or
brick?

It’s not my wishlist, nor is it necessarily billed as a generic one, it’s a
particular person’s wishlist. So I couldn’t say why, not being that person.

judgement is what human nature’s all about. just content that someone looked at
the pieces and got out of them what he/she needed/wanted.
