Heres my idea: A playset re-creation of the Death Star trench battle from
Episode IV.
Id love to see two minifig X-wings (Luke and Wedge), with Vaders Tie Fighter,
and a semi-built up trench (read--LOTS of er..new..gray), perhaps with a turret
or two with imperial gunners inside, with a mechanism to launch a
missile/weapons fire. Lastly, you could incorporate a spring-loaded mechanism
(kinda like the LEGO Studios bank breakout) that would cause some of the panels
around the trench to pop and fall off--to simulate dropping the torpedo into the
Death Stars weak spot.
Now, thinking in the $150 range of practical application, that set would
probably exceed $150. If two X-wings arent possible, maybe use one X-Wing,
with Vaders Tie (I dont think an X-wing and Tie fighter have been offered in
one set) or maybe even a Y-Wing. Or maybe scale it down to a microscale
version.
Im about to age myself here--but I recall those Star Wars metal lunch
boxes..who can forget that iconic image of good vs evil in the form of a Tie
fighter chasing an X-Wing?

| (...) or Another way to keep it under $150 is make the trench short with Technic bricks on each end so more than one of the same set can be combined end-to-end, with instructions showing how to do so. Maybe scale it (trench and ships) somewhere in (...) (17 years ago, 28-Jan-08, to lugnet.ambassadors, FTX)
