  Re: Racing and .dat Files

Hi Don I am pleased you started this thread/idea. There seems to be a lot of potential for "racing" and lots of ideas coming in. As a game that can be played at meetings I think it would be a lot of fun, bringing your own racer(s) and getting rated (...) (21 years ago, 21-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

(...) In multiple lap races, engine wear and overheating will increace the possibility of engine failure. (...) Yes, the inner lane at the curve should be one movement space, and the outer lane 2 movement spaces. Thus a total of 3 racers could be on (...) (21 years ago, 21-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: Racing and .dat Files

(...) Going strictly by physics, you should be able to go faster in the inner lane (which would be accurately represented by having less spaces), but you'll have greater control in the outer lane because you're turning in a larger radius (you could (...)   Re: Racing and .dat Files

(...) Hi Christian Authenticity is not my strong point when it comes to cars/racers I have to admit. So, the lever on the front was more of an artistic "add-on" that grew from an idea that a starting handle might be necessary. The wheels are on (...) Hi Don and Christian Hey, this sounds like a project! I am looking forward to seeing your track Don! Or will it be a photo-finish-MOC Christian? :) Chris P.S. I have begun work on the 1930's Paris-Dakar Rally idea. Basically using Christian's (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

  Re: The Flying Wing

Hi Christian "Sweep and Taper" sounds like a weekend of frustration! :) But you are right and I think I will go for it with SNOT. It was useful to read both yours and Lindsay's comments! As for the tail. Yep, more red would be a good thing. I can (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: The Flying Wing

Hi Lindsay Thanks for your comments and ideas. I have tried building wings with SNOT before with reasonable success: (URL) I hadn't thought about SNOT when I was building "the wing" but I think it would allow for more tapering. Bit worried about the (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: The Flying Wing

(...) Yes--the "straightness" was also my big concern. The plane in Temple of Doom does look like a very heavily modified Horten wing, so if you dig around on Luft46 you should be able to get the specific geometries in drawings. The Horten wings did (...) (21 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: The Flying Wing

(...) It will tricky though. Sweep and taper is not easy to do. While you are at it, more red on the tails please. And those might need to extend further aft. That would also help soften the "straightness". Christian (21 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: The Flying Wing

(...) Hi Christian You are absolutely right. I think a little modification is needed. Thanks for your observation. I'll probably take more pictures after modififying the wing. Chris (21 years ago, 18-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: The Flying Wing

(...) Excellent idea. As you write the best part is the rear gunner. I am looking forward to seing more pictures. However I think that the planform is too straight. The wings needs to be swept back and maybe more tapering. Christian (21 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)

  The Flying Wing

After watching "Raiders" again for the umpteenth time, I made a quick sketch of the flying wing and then proceeded to build it (with Indy getting beaten up in the background). It was this plane that led me to the "prototypes" webpages and new ideas (...) (21 years ago, 17-May-04, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build.military)
