(...) John, Was that a cleverly timed joke (if so, nice work! :-) or was your content clipped unintentionally by your WebTV browser? Looking at the incoming HTML-form logs, your browser appears to have chopped the text after the "an". Question: When (...)   Re: Newsgroup for LEGO "art" (was: Re: edy lego art)

(...) [...] I understand that you don't want to create .art (yet), because there are already quite a lot of main groups in lugnet. And I agree that .fun.art is the better choice compared to .build.art. In general art does not necessarily has to deal (...) (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Re: Problem with Unix tin and Lugnet

Todd, I tried both trn and slrn on a .newsrc file that tin wouldn't read. They handled it just fine. I've also tried deleting and re-creating .newsrc several times, as well as subscribing to different sets of groups, to see if that would have any (...)   Re: Problem with Unix tin and Lugnet

(...) Steve, Another thing to try: Rename (back up) your .newsrc file to something like .newsrc.xyz and then re-run tin and let it load up everything starting from scratch...   Re: Problem with Unix tin and Lugnet

(...) What does trn (for example) do when you run the same .newsrc file with it? I wonder if it's corrupt? (Just a thought, since you said that tin hangs when reading groups from it...) --Todd (24 years ago, 4-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

Problem with Unix tin and Lugnet

I'm having some trouble getting the tin newsreader to work properly with lugnet. If I subscribe to more than two groups, tin will hang indefinitely during startup during the "Reading groups from newsrc file..." phase: tin 1.4 release 19991113 ("No (...)   Re: Newsgroup for LEGO "art" (was: Re: edy lego art)

Re: Newsgroup for LEGO "art" (was: Re: edy lego art)

(...) You could put them in as examples, but of course you cannot make an exhaustive list of what is art, that's just contrary to the nature of art.   Re: Newsgroup for LEGO "art" (was: Re: edy lego art)

(...) Well, I'd be happy to see it in either place, but I think relegating it to .fun under the assumption that it is a non-standard way to use the Lego elements ignores evidence to the contrary in things like the Ultimate Lego Book, where folks (...)   Re: Setting the From: header in slrn

(...) As long as your newsreader (or posting agent/client) either leaves it blank or sets it to a unique value, it's OK.   slrnpull and LUGNET?

Okay, another slrn question, this one about slrnpull. I'm trying to spool LUGNET messages so I can read them offline.
