Okay, another slrn question, this one about slrnpull. I'm trying to spool
LUGNET messages so I can read them offline. However, I'm currently having
problem getting slrnpull to actually download messages. (2)
I can see (1) that it connects to lugnet.com, and that it engages in a
dialogue with the server. But when it starts to download messages, it just
hangs. I've let it go for more than ten minutes before killing the process.
Here's my slrnpull.conf:
default 50 5000
lugnet.admin.general * *
#etc.
Does anyone know if this is a typical issue? Does anyone have a slrnpull.conf
file they'd like to share?
Thanks! :-,
Cheers,

1. BTW, here's the *entire* log for a typical session:
07/10/2000 10:42:23 slrnpull started.
07/10/2000 10:42:23 Reading e:\dev\slrn\slrnpull\slrnpull.conf
07/10/2000 10:42:23 Connecting to host lugnet.com ...
07/10/2000 10:42:53 Connected to host. Posting Ok.
07/10/2000 10:42:53 Fetching articles for lugnet.admin.general.
07/10/2000 10:42:54 The server may contain as many as 7111 articles in this
group
07/10/2000 10:42:54 Only examining last 7062 articles since this is a new
group
07/10/2000 10:42:54 lugnet.admin.general: Retrieving articles 7062-7111.
07/10/2000 10:42:54 lugnet.admin.general: 50 articles available.
2. I'm planning 50 messages per group I read per hour during the early
morning hours... Is this too much, or can I really go overboard? :-,

| (...) I haven't used slrnpull, but I have experienced the same behaviour with Gnus Unplugged. It would normally function just great, but some times it simply hung when downloading the articles in certain groups. I found some incomplete NOV lines in (...)
