I did, actually. The Wayback Machine has also been helpful in my trip
down memory lane, and an early "What's New on LUGNET" page mentions it. :-)

I mentioned before about the RTL archive, and how I wish we could get
the raw message source out from under the Google Groups interface. The
other big, big piece that remains missing is an archive of the L-CAD
list. There aren't any records at LDraw.org, prior to its own forums
being set up. I reached out to Doug Finney via his Bricklink store, and
he doesn't have anything saved (nor would I have expected it).
Some folks somewhere might have kept certain old threads around, but
probably not a complete archive. Pity!
