Wow! Thanks for noticing and pointing out that these have gone missing.

There's actually no expiry mechanism for LUGNET news articles. However, it's
possible to cancel an article on a case-by-case basis using a script internally.
The script simply renames the file in the directory to prefix it with an
underscore charcter (e.g., "1234" becomes "_1234"), thus removing it from active
view. This way, an accidentally canceled article can be un-canceled, and no
news articles are ever actually permanently deleted. So that's the good news.
I sure don't know how they went missing, but it *is* an error. News articles
here are supposed to be permanent, and there's no good reason for these to be
omitted from the record. (Changes to policy can and should be given as follow-
ups to the originals, without deleting the originals.)
