Copy/paste remnant??

I wonder that, too.  According to the articles, headers, it was posted via NNTP
over TCP/IP using an NNTP client called Forte, rather than generated via script
on the server via internal article injection like the 1/2 articles were.

There's code in the NNTP server (which is C News) for adding default headers,
but an expiration date like that isn't something that makes sense any sense to
me.  We can rule out the possibility that a draft of the article was composed
using Forte and then injected it via script because it says it was relayed by
an external NNTP host at javanet.com (which was my dial-up ISP at the time).

I'm just glad that the damage wasn't worse!

(...) Oh, here's what must the problem: this message (of all messages, irony of ironies) is missing its X-Real-Life-Name header. It must have suffered an existential crisis and imploded. :-D (2 weeks ago, 11-Jun-26, to lugnet.admin.nntp)
